About Department

The Department of Economics, National University of Modern Languages (NUML) was established in 2003. Its first program (M.Sc. Economics) was launched in Fall 2003.

The classes of  the pioneer batch of M.Sc. Economics (Aug 2003 - June 2005) started on 11th August 2003. Twenty-seven (27) students were enrolled in 1st batch and twenty (20) of them  successfully completed their M.Sc. Economics degree program. About 150 students have been graduated in first five batches.

The admissions to M.Sc. Economics are offered twice a year for the Spring Semester (January-June) and the Fall Semester (August-December) in the morning and evening sessions.

Presently, the graduates of the department are serving in different governmental and  non-governmental organization, such as:

Federal Government Departments: Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Petroleum, Economic Affairs Division, National Assembly Secretariat, Senate Secretariat, Planning & Development Division, Ministry of Population Welfare, Board of Investment.

Educational Institutions: Government Colleges, Army Public Schools & Colleges, City School, OPF

International Organizations: World Bank, Islamic Relief, Norwegian Refugees Organization, RI-USAID
